Overview:
The Certificate
IV in Business is a very broad qualification and is designed to provide
you with the necessary skills for middle management in office and
administration environments within any industry. It encourages
you to adopt a problem-solving approach to a range of situations in a
supervisory role, within small and medium-sized businesses.
This
is a practical-based course and provides course participants with
opportunities to acquire and practice new skills in all areas relating
to business systems and operations.
Participation in this training program will assist you to develop skills across the areas of:
- customer service
- business resources
- promoting products and services
- effective leadership and management
- recruiting staff
There
is only one mandatory Unit of Competency in this qualification, which
means that the other nine Units of Competency have been selected based
on the experience of the College and which Units are most beneficial in
the workplace.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) You
may be assessed for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition
of Current Competence (RCC) for one or more Units of Competency.
This means that you will not need to complete training for that
specific Unit. Assessment is undertaken on an individual basis
and determination of RPL or RCC is based on the evidence of your
previous experience and learning.
Entry
Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however you will need:
- Access to a computer with internet connection
- Access to a workplace or practice environment (in some cases this can be arranged for you)
- Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course, for example:
- Literacy skills to write, read, interpret and comprehend a variety of information
- Language skills to provide clear information/instructions and to give receive and interpret information and feedback
- Numeracy skills to solve routine problems
