As a minimum requirement, most lenders now require you to become a member of the industry associations such as the MFFA (Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia) or the FBAA (Finance Brokers Association of Australia. Upon successfully completing a Mortgage Broking course with The Australian College of Professionals you will have a qualification to apply to the MFAA or the FBAA for the Accredited Mortgage Broker membership provided that you meet their other requirements, which may include completion of further training which is only offered by these industry associations.

At the conclusion of the Certificate IV training course, you will have achieved the theoretical and practical skills required to apply for membership with the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) or the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) provided you meet their other requirements, which may include completion of further training which is only offered by these industry associations and/or you may be required to undertake study to the Diploma level.

After achieving this qualification candidates may undertake an upgraded qualification in:
Some Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be available for experienced Mortgage Brokers who would like to go on to complete a further short course to apply for their Buyers Agent Licence. This licence is an alternative to general real estate sales and looks at working solely for the purchaser and acting on their behalf throughout the sales process.

Diploma in Finance and

Mortgage Broking Management

Course Overview:

In addition to the Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking qualification, students may complete an additional two (2) days of training to achieve the Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management qualification.

Please note that ACP updated their Diploma Upgrade course to the new FNS10 Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management qualifications in late 2010  and have been delivering the new Diploma units for nearly a year. This means that existing FNS04 Cert IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking holders who complete the Diploma Upgrade course at ACP this year will receive the 'new' FNS10 Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management qualification.

Entry Requirements:

Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking or demonstrated skills and experience within the Mortgage Broking industry which can be assessed via our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process for the Certificate IV level qualification. Our Assessors can work with you to collect your evidence of competency and identify the training that is required for you to meet all of the requirements to achieve the Diploma qualification.
